Dr. Roger Campos
Dr. Roger Campos received his bachelor's degree in biology in 1981 from Texas A&M University in Kingsville and graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio School of Dentistry. He is president of Campos Family Dental, P.C., one of the largest private dental employers in San Antonio. He has been a leader in the recruitment and mentoring of students in particular with the Texas A&M Kingsville Natural Toxins Research Center. Dr. Campos has supported the University substantially in various projects. He has been a generous supporter of the University and Javelina athletics for many years. He has been a key supporter of the biology and chemistry department through student scholarships.
A former president of the Javelina Alumni Association and member of the President's Circle, he was recently inducted as a Distinguished Alumnus and into the University Legacy Society which recognizes individuals, families, corporations, and foundations that have made significant contributions. In addition, as a former president of the Greater San Antonio Hispanic Dental association, he was instrumental in developing the first high school pre-dental club in San Antonio as an avenue to encourage students to continue their education into college and the health professions.
In addition, Dr. Campos dedicates his time to numerous professional organizations throughout the area. He is currently on the board of directors for the San Antonio District Dental Society and the University of Texas Health Science Center Alumni Association and also works with the U.T. Health Science Center as a faculty member.
Dr. Campos dedicates a lot of his spare time helping the community in events such as the San Fernando Health Fair, Oaxaca Mission Trips “Los Quijotes de San Antonio Medical and Dental Group”, and oral health school presentations. For the past decade during basketball and football season, Dr. Campos rounds up a team of pre-dental and dental professionals to create customized sport mouth-guards for various universities and high school teams.
